History:
Marco was born the only child to Peter and Eva. Right from the start his mother taught him to view the world with a smile, even in the face of adversity. This sense of humor, along with support from his friend Jake, is what got him through when two years ago, his mother died in a boating accident. His father fell into a deep depression, and quit going to work, causing them to slip down the financial ladder. Eva's body was never found.
Skip forward two years and you have Jake and Marco at the arcade. When leaving, they run into Tobias, a boy Marco had never really cared for, and whom he viewed as a bit of a hanger on. Jake had saved the boy from a swirly, and since then, Tobias had followed Jake around like a lost puppy. When they emerged into the mall the trio bumped into Jake's cousin, a total babe named Rachel, and her best friend, Cassie. The group set off to head home, cutting through the abandoned construction site in an effort to make it there more quickly.
Tobias spotted it first, an alien craft headed toward them. It crashed and an injured Andalite came out, telling them about the Yeerks, who were invading their planet, and giving the group of children a powerful weapon, the ability to morph, to turn into any animal they could touch.
At first, Marco wanted nothing to do with the war he had been thrust into. But then, during what was to be his last mission, he discovered that his mother wasn't dead. She was infact being used as the host to a powerful Yeerk, Visser One. With that, he vowed to battle the Yeerks and free his mother.
Now skip ahead several months, maybe even a year. Marco was the one who first noticed David. The boy had found the Escafil device. The cube Elfangor had used to give them their morphing powers. When David's family was taken by the Yeerks, and the Animorphs were left no other choice, they gave the boy the same power they had been given.
But David turned against them, and tried to kill them. In the end, they trapped him as a rat. Now the story rolls on, and Marco has no idea that David has been given back the power to morph, or that the rat-boy is out for revenge.
Sample RP:
The darkness was thick in the rainy night, wind howled through the trees, ruffling the feathers of an owl that perched in a nearby tree. In the minds of his friends, the bird spoke, muttering a complaint, <What are we doing out here again? It’s cold, it’s rainy, and I’m missing the Star Trek marathon.>
His sharp eyes pierced the all encompassing starless void that was the space between himself and the community center. <And why is it that Ax, Birdboy and I are the only ones out here?>
Of course, Jake, Rachel and Cassie could not reply, being them human selves within the complex. But Marco was fairly certain his best friend was rolling his eyes at the boy’s whining. The simple truth of the matter was that Rachel had a gymnastics meet that night, and that elsewhere in the center the Sharing was gathering. Of course, they needed eyes outside to monitor the arrival of known controllers, as well as people inside to monitor the goings on there. The easiest way to get into the center, was to go in as humans, then slip into the bathroom, morph, and infiltrate the Sharing meeting. So, that was the plan. The two most likely to go with Rachel to the meet, her cousin and best friend, were to use that as a cover to get into the center without seeming suspicious, while the rest waited outside to play the cavalry.
Marco would have rolled his eyes, had an owl had the capacity to do so. He was freezing his tail feathers off while Jake and the girls were inside toasty warm! The comedian of the Animorphs let out a mental sigh. Not only was he freezing, but he was bored out of his mind! And he really wasn’t sure it was a good idea for the others to have gone in alone.
